The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team on a part-time basis at Agentis Capital Markets, a CIRO-registered broker-dealer with offices in Toronto and Vancouver. In the CFO role, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial aspects of our organization, ensuring the stability, growth, and sustainability of our financial operations. Your strategic financial acumen, leadership, and deep understanding of the financial services industry will be essential in achieving our financial goals and maintaining our regulatory standing.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy in alignment with the company's goals and CIRO regulations.
- Pro-actively provide expert financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to support decision-making and ensure compliance.
- Ensure strict adherence to CIRO regulations, reporting requirements, and financial controls.
- Bought Deal experience is an asset.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies and auditors to address compliance matters, ad-hoc requests and facilitate audits.
- Oversee financial reporting, including quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
- Manage financial systems, controls, and processes as required.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, developing strategies to safeguard the company's financial stability.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls to manage risks.
- Communicate financial performance, strategies, and results to the executive team and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the executive team and regulatory authorities.
Your Skills and Experience
- Excellent understanding of Canadian financial regulations and compliance standards.
- A financial accounting designation, finance-related university degree or diploma
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial leadership roles within the financial services industry, including experience with CIRO regulations.
- Completion of the CSI CFO Qualifying Exam and PDO Course is required
- Strong knowledge of financial software and systems.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
